Pirates, Portraits and Problem Solving in Year 2

Year 2 pupils have been using their mental maths facts to solve subtraction calculations. This week, they investigated which materials would make the best sail for a pirate ship. In art, they began drawing their own portraits and learnt how to colour them using oil pastels. They have worked tirelessly on their phonics, reading and fluency. Following our recent assessments, you will notice a change in the colour of the book bag books sent home next half term. After the holidays, the pupils are really looking forward to learning about the Great Fire of London.
