Uniform Voucher Policy – School Uniforms

The Beckfoot Trust will provide Financial Support to families of students on free school meals now or that have been on free school meals at any time within the last six years.  The eligibility will be based on the students identified on the Government’s Ever6 database.

Uniform vouchers will be valued at £30 and will be redeemable at Natasha’s Uniform Shop in Bradford. Vouchers will not be valid in any other outlets.

In special circumstances, uniform voucher support may be provided to other parents/carers where exceptional need can be explained (e.g. families moving into the area for the first time from abroad).

Pre-loved

We have pre-loved uniform available to buy from school at £1 per item (we always have a stall on parents’ evenings) so please help us re-use good quality uniform items by donating and/or buying.

Forest Family Lunchtime

At Beckfoot Heaton, we have our lunch ‘forest family’ style, which helps put into practice all of our school values of growth, commitment and integrity.

Children enter the hall and go to the same table each day, sitting with the same 8 children so everyone has a familiar friend to talk to and nobody is left out. Each table has a mixture of younger children and older children, and the children from year 5 and year 6 help to serve the food to the younger children, encourage conversation as they eat, and then help to clear the tables at the end.

Forest family dining has made sure we don’t have long queues, lonely children and lots of food waste. It has given more time to eat and more time to play!

Our catering company is called FM, and the menus are sent to SchoolPing each week, so you can help your child choose their preference. Some children choose not to have a school dinner and bring a healthy packed lunch, these children still sit with everyone else so they get the benefits of family dining.

Wrap around care

Breakfast Club

We are delighted to offer Breakfast Club provision here at Beckfoot Heaton. We offer two Breakfast Clubs, one for our younger and a separate one for our older children, with both running from 7.45am – 8.30am every day. Your child can have breakfast and complete fun activities to get them ready for the day ahead at school.

If you would like your child to attend this provision, please email the school office [email protected]

After School Care

As well as our own free school clubs, Ofsted registered Kanga offer an after school club service with lots of flexible options from 3.30pm – 5.45pm every day.  There is a timetable of activities and families can pick and choose which part of the club to attend.  Activities include arts, crafts, drama, yoga, sport and much more.

Kanga accept childcare vouchers and tax free payments which reduce the cost by 20%.
