Year 1 have had a very exciting week. In English, we have been learning all about barn owls. The children explored what barn owls look like, where they live and what they eat. To bring our learning to life, we were very lucky to have a visit from three different owls: a tawny owl, a great horned owl and a burrowing owl. The children were amazed as the burrowing owl flew right over their heads! In maths, we have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. The children have been identifying and describing different shapes, as well as spotting shapes in the environment around them. They have shown great enthusiasm and have become much more confident in recognising different shapes.
