Rugby, Rounding and the Victorians in Year 4

Year 4 have continued their topic of Rugby in PE this week. They have each worn a belt with 2 Velcro tags. They had to run, holding the ball, through a gauntlet without having a tag removed. It is great to see their progress and confidence.

In Maths, Year 4 have been rounding 4 digit numbers to 10 and 100 using a number line. Next week we will continue rounding looking at rounding numbers to 1000.

Year 4 have loved our art lessons! We have used watercolours to investigate blending colour and adding depth to our work. We excited to use the watercolour pencils when we create our artwork of Victorian Architecture.

As well as using the watercolours, Year 4 have been finding out what life was like for Victorian children and considering the perils for those that had to work in a mill or coal mine! We are looking forwards to writing our own warning story about a Victorian child working in a mill.
