This week in Reception, we have been immersing ourselves in our new topic, ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. We have had a busy and exciting week retelling the story through our small-world tray, 4D space and outdoor provision activities.
In Maths, we have been exchanging numbers and exploring the composition of numbers, helping us to deepen our understanding of how numbers are made.
We have also been working incredibly hard in Phonics, learning our Set 2 sounds and becoming more confident at reading words containing “special friends”.
Everyone was delighted to see how much the chicks had grown over the holidays while they were staying with Miss Normington.
We also planted our own beans and can’t wait to watch them grow and see how tall they become!
