This week in Reception has been incredibly exciting as we welcomed six very special new arrivals into our year group! We were thrilled to meet our gorgeous, fluffy chicks: Jolly, Jenny, Fluffy, Tiger, Marshmallow and Dolly. The children were fascinated as they watched the chicks hatch from their eggs and enter the world. Since then, we have been learning all about how to care for them and what they need to grow big and strong. The chicks have also inspired lots of wonderful drawing, imaginative play and writing from the children.
In Maths, we have continued to develop and embed our understanding of grouping and sharing through a range of practical activities.
In Literacy, we have been learning the steps needed to make cupcakes, and we enjoyed a very exciting afternoon baking and decorating our own delicious creations.
We have also loved taking our learning outdoors this week, where the children explored nature, developed their teamwork skills and enjoyed hands-on activities in the fresh air.
