From 2D Shapes to Ancient Egypt: A Week in Year 3

What a week Year 3 have had! We have continued with our shape learning in Maths and have been focussing on the properties of 2D shapes along with parallel and perpendicular lines. We have continued to add to our Book Art poster, and this week have included facts about the pyramids in Egypt. The real highlight of the week was watching a ‘real life’ mummification in the hall! The children were captivated by watching our school embalmer (Mrs Harrop!) turn a deceased pharaoh into a mummy before their eyes! When they returned to class, the children had a chance to mummify their classmates which was great fun and the children discovered that making a mummy is not quite as easy as it looks!
