Publishing, Painting, and Author Inspiration in Year 4!

This week Year 4 have published their persuasive leaflets using Pages on the iPads. They have inserted pictures, changed the font and even inserted backgrounds to make the leaflet eye catching. In Art they have completed their Victorian Houses using water colour pencils, they look spectacular. On Wednesday, Year 4 joined an online assembly where author Sharna Jackson read her new text, The Street Art Mystery, to us. It was a fantastic session and at the end of the assembly Year 4 had lots of questions to ask the author including: how do you create a character and how long does it take to create a book? Sharna was thrilled by all our questions and encouraged us to read as much as possible, as well as also challenging the children to discover a new artist. One of the children in Lime Class was so inspired by the talk that she created her own version of Van Gogh’s Sunflowers, including falling petals!
