This week, Year 6 have started to enjoy their trench day experiences in our woodlands. Pupils have pretended to be World War 1 soldiers, digging trenches, re-enacting battles, cooking soup and learning about what life was like on the battlefield. In classrooms Year 6 have written descriptions of the trenches and of no-mans-land, using their senses. Footage was also taken in the woodlands of a significant event – The Christmas Day Truce. In IT lessons Year 6 pupils will be creating iMovie videos using this footage, adding sounds, changing colour, cutting clips etc, we can’t wait to see the finished pieces!
