This week, Year 2 children tested their directional language skills when playing partner games (clockwise, anti-clockwise, half-turn, one-quarter-turn, three-quarter-turn). They immersed themselves in the re-enactment of the rescue tale based on the core text ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Rescue’. They acted out the actions and used the vocabulary to express them, and built their vocabulary for their writing. Finally, the children have started their Art module and learned different paper art techniques, such as folding and layering. Next week they will practice drawing puffin body parts so they can create their final piece.
