Rainbow Fish, 3D Shapes, and Creative Minds in Reception

It has been another busy and exciting week in Reception. In Literacy, we have been immersing ourselves in the story The Rainbow Fish, exploring a variety of ways to retell the story. The children have especially enjoyed using the small world tray to bring the story to life.

In Maths, we have been learning about 3D shapes. The children loved being “shape investigators,” searching the classroom to identify and name different 3D shapes in their environment.

During Creative activities, the children carefully used thin paintbrushes to add patterns and details to the fish they created last week. They were extremely proud of their finished artwork, and we were very impressed with their creativity and focus.

In Phonics, we have continued learning new sounds, practising oral blending and reading CVC words. Please remember to practise sounds and word reading at home with your child, as this greatly supports their learning.
