This week, Year 6 have learnt about how we remember those who fought in wars; pupils took part in a special assembly about remembrance on the 11th November, pupils were introduced to some significant figures and made origami poppies. Year 6 have also learnt about how maps of Europe altered following World War 1, where some countries changed size and name. Pupils will be reading a book titled ‘Where the poppies now grow’ next week, where two boys meet and fight in the war together. This book series also includes beautiful water colour images which Year 6 will recreate in their art lessons.
