What a busy and exciting week we’ve had in Reception! We started with a trip to the woodlands for our fire safety session with Mr Mawson. The children loved helping to build a campfire and watching the sticks burn. It was wonderful to hear their thoughtful descriptions of the fire and what was happening to the wood. They remembered everything Mr Mawson had taught them and were very sensible and safe around the campfire.
In our literacy lessons, we have been learning all about our new story, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. We explored the tale through songs, rap, sensory objects and images. The children have been following step-by-step instructions to draw the bear, and they have done a fantastic job!
We have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know our new story and are so excited to continue exploring it throughout this half term!
