It’s been another wonderfully busy week in Reception! We’ve been autumn detectives, solar system explorers, and story sequencers all in one week!
In Literacy, we have continued our work on the story “Whatever Next!” The children have done a fantastic job sequencing the events and confidently retelling the story in their own words. They have also been practicing their sequencing skills by cutting and arranging story pictures in the correct order — great work, everyone!
Outdoors, we’ve been strengthening our fine motor skills by creating beautiful patterns in the sand, which the children have absolutely loved. Our autumn detective adventures have also continued — we’ve been searching the playground for signs of autumn and sorting our treasures by colour.
In Phonics, we’ve been learning the sounds r, j, v, y, and w. You can help your child practice at home by spotting these sounds together in books, posters, and signs.
