5, 4, 3, 2, 1… Blast Off in Reception! 🚀

What an exciting week it has been in Reception! We’ve been busy exploring space, rockets, and astronauts through a range of fun and creative activities.

The children have loved building rockets using different materials — from life-sized rockets outdoors to miniature versions in the creative area. We’ve also been learning all about astronauts: what they do in space, what they wear, and what life is like beyond Earth.

In the creative area, the children have been practicing their joining skills to turn simple cardboard tubes into fantastic rockets. They’ve also been following step-by-step instructions to draw rockets and even had a go at writing the letter r! Alongside our space adventures, we’ve continued with our phonics. This week we learnt the sounds t, i, n, g, p. You can keep practicing these at home — and don’t forget to share your writing with us by sending a picture on Seesaw.
