This week, Reception had some very exciting visitors! A judge from the Great Yorkshire Show came to see the wonderful vegetables we’ve been growing and to learn all about the fantastic work we’ve been doing in class. The judge was very impressed with our vegetable box, and now we’re eagerly waiting to hear the results!
In Literacy, the children created their own characters to invent a new version of the story Jack and the Beanstalk. Each child designed a character and brought it to life using a computer app. The results were amazing — the children were fascinated and produced some fantastic stories.
In Maths, we’ve been exploring patterns in numbers, focusing on odd and even numbers, as well as equal and unequal groups. The children practiced exchanging and splitting amounts into two groups, applying their understanding through hands-on activities.
In Creative, we’ve been working with clay, carefully manipulating it to create pots that represent the pot of gold Jack took from the giant.
