Finger power in 3 year nursery

3YN #42 The Rough and The Smooth

This week children in 3-year nursery have been exploring different textures. They have been manipulating playdough into different shapes and adding a range of materials to their creations. Some children made snails from the story ‘Jasper’s Beanstalk’. In the creative area children have been using their fingers to paint, exploring what paint feels like and how they can move their fingers in different ways to create a picture. In the fine motor areas children have been using tweezers to build the muscles in their fingers, this will support children in learning to write.
