Mrs Salma Younis

(Appointed 24/01/2017) – Previously Full & Resources Governor of Heaton Primary School

Salma was a Parent Governor at Heaton Primary prior to the school joining the MAT. She has a son, daughter and three nieces who are pupils at BHPSN. During 2003 to 2008, Salma was an LEA Governor at Belle Vue Girls School, and Vice Chair of Finance and General Purposes Committee.

Salma is a Senior Manager in the Public Sector Audit department of KPMG in Leeds. Her client base has included multi academy trusts, further education colleges, specialist colleges and universities. This has given her very relevant experience of the education sector, governance, management, quality of teaching and finance.

Salma feels very strongly that “every child matters” and that every child should be given the opportunity to grow and develop into adults who contribute positively to the community and to industry – high quality primary school education is essential in setting the foundations for this. She relishes the opportunity to work with the Local School Committee and the Trust Board to enable the school to “grow to be great”.
